The
Central Alarm Monitoring (CAM) system is a computerized
monitoring and information system for prompt rectification
of faults occurred in the systems installed at
distant places. The system is capable of monitoring
virtually any number of PABX system and other
intelligent peripheral equipments such as switches,
fire alarms, etc. of different types.
The
CAM application expands upon the existing alarm
management application providing capabilities
to send various notifications when specific events
occur, using advanced rule-base event filtering
capabilities. The CAM application complements
existing external alarm management system by adding
greater flexibility features and capacity. The
CAM 'Remote Contact' application receives event
from specified system and sends out alarm notifications
over LAN, WAN, CC mail and pager when specified
Alarms are detected.
CAM
processing and notification is defined in a an
SQL Database which the user can sets up using
a friendly GUI environment and can add, modify
and search for the information about the sites,
engineers and retrieve valuable reports using
'Historical Report' options.
More
over, engineers can access the system using their
laptops or computer remotely by dialing in using
any open communication software e.g. HyperTerminal
or ProComm etc. Users can also get information
over an Ethernet WAN/LAN Network and can give
their observations and remarks about the nature,
cause of failures, and can see the Fault description
etc.
A
minimum of 8 and maximum 128 telephone lines can
be attached with the system. The system is ideal
for monitoring Nortel and Lucent PBXs systems,
such as Meridian and SL1, Definity and others.
It can also be used with other PABX and Industrial
equipments where the continuous proactive maintenance
is required.
